So, in Brittan you are not allowed to fight back if someone breaks into your house and tries to kill you.

It would appear so. The people are required to die first, and ask questions later.
Is it my imagination, or is the UK turning into a shithole country?

Awhile back I was reading an article about self-defense in Britain. The only item you are legally permitted to carry is a whistle (seriously). Even pepper spray is forbidden.

So, in Brittan you are not allowed to fight back if someone breaks into your house and tries to kill you.

The incident recalls the case of Tony Martin, a Norfolk farmer who was convicted of manslaughter after shooting a burglar he discovered in his home in 1999. Mr Martin was initially convicted of murder, but this was later reduced to manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility.

Police arrested him on suspicion of grievous bodily harm before then arresting him on suspicion of murder.

Norman Brennan, a former police officer who represents victims’ interests, said police were required to arrest the pensioner in order to investigate whether he had acted in self defence. - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/04/04/suspected-burglar-dies-tussle-pensioner-78/
