Liberals dream of creating some utopia. Liberals are depressed because liberals are never satisfied. They can never win enough elections, appoint enough judges, create enough safe spaces or government programs to alleviate every social ill, to feel that they have achieved their utopia.

And part of that is moving the goal posts. For example, the liberals and LGBT types struggled to achieve homosexual marriage. They won that battle in our culture. Were they happy, were their lives complete? NO! Instead, they are still pissed off, but now they have moved the goal posts to working on transsexual issues, transgendered access to bathrooms and locker rooms.

So no matter how far they go to achieve some goal, it’s never enough for the liberal. In the LGBT area, in this example, they will never be satisfied. If they achieve their goals of “equality” for transsexuals, then they will move the goal posts again, and push for something else, and will not be happy.

We see it on many other issues too. Consider all the environmental activism in recent decades. We have done a hell of a lot to clean up the environment in recent decades, but do the enviro extremists cry for joy about that? NO! Instead they have moved on to push this global warming thing, and are as unhappy now, as they were when the Cuyahoga River caught on fire due to pollution.

I think of them as spoiled children, whose parents never set limits and who give them everything they want. The one thing they really want is limits, and that is the one thing no one gives them. As long as they keep getting everything they claim to want, their demands will keep getting ever more unreasonable and ludicrous.
