It looks like President Trump’s tweets have had an effect on Mexico. Whether or not you believe that our southern neighbor will follow through, at least they realize they have a PR problem, and potentially face some serious consequences for aiding and abetting violations of our border. Joshua Partlow and David Agren, reporting in the Washington Bezos Post, totally buy into the Mexican PR effort:
The Mexican government on Monday evening moved to break up the caravan of migrants moving through southern Mexico, with immigration officials registering the travelers and suggesting some could receive humanitarian visas while others would have to leave Mexico.
The caravan, estimated at more than 1,000 migrants, many from Central America, has gained increasing visibility because of tweets by President Trump that have criticized Mexico for not doing more to stop the flow of migrants to the southern border of the United States.
Skepticism toward Mexico is the rule of the day on this story. Buzzfeed, with a reporter embedded in the caravan, is less credulous than the WaBezPo:
Mexico’s National Institute of Immigration (INM) said late Monday that it plans by Wednesday to disband a caravan of hundreds of Central American migrants that has been traveling through Mexico for nine days.
Caravan organizers said, however, they expect at least some of the migrants to continue north to the US border. They estimate that most of them will seek asylum or some type of protection in Mexico or the US.
I think that it is fair to conclude that the group organizing and sponsoring this caravan, Pueblo Sin Fronteras (“town without borders”) has provoked a backlash.

RE: Wont happen.
If not, we better be prepared to turn them back.
More like diffuse.
We need a strong show of military force to greet “dis band” and “dat band” when they show up at the border.
It’s pretty hard to trust them.
You’re right, this is a fkin invasion. Shoot them.
I trust Mexico will gravitate to the highest bribe.
Exactly. Im thinking theyre breaking them into smaller groups so theyre more difficult to keep track of.

True, but the whole caravan thing was by and large a PR stunt, trying to force the President into a no-win scenario.
Winning!
This was unbelievably bold. At least in the past, they tried to hide themselves. But this is ridiculous.
United States military? There you go, that is the response. This is nothing short of an invasion.
For reference see articles on the seemingly 4 million "top Al Queda Leaders" who were captured and killed.
We need some patriots on the border armed and ready. At this point, shooting every last one of them is acceptable.
By the way, when I lived in Colorado, I knew someone was involved in La Raza. They want to take back land.
Tough cookies to them. There is a border that must be respected.

Also I read somewhere that there are people near the border, ranchers etc., who are actually afraid to use their own land. That is not right.
Invasion is an act of war. Bomb the ivaders.
Disband? Put our National Guard to work “disbanding” and turning back all illegals who try to enter the USA.
Its also safe to conclude that this US based NGO is in clear violation of 8 USC 1324. Their offices should be raided, organization leaders should be arrested, assets seized and tax exempt status permanently revoked.
DOJ DO YOUR JOB OR WE WILL JUST GET MORE OF THIS.
FYI. I will be at the Instituto Nacional Migracion in Toluca tomorrow. Don’t be so rough on Mexico. They work hard, and it is real sad, to see 15 year old girls with bloody stumps, feet walking over roads to get to Los Angeles..just to see her daddy. It is a SAD world, and the poor gal that attends me says she would like to write a book about all of the horrible things she has seen.
Honduras, needs to work more on solving their own problems instead of shipping out their problems to other nations.
Or the highest threat. Mexico has nothing to win here and much to loose. If they thought they could threaten us and get an advantage over the Trump administration in the coming NAFTA negotiations they miscalculated on a grand scale.
She wouldn’t need to if Daddy stayed in his own country.
