Well it was sold as an insecticide — as other cyanide-related products were too in 19th century America. I want to think of the Lizzie Borden case, but that was about axe murder. This is not the modern era where you cannot get permethrin without bold warnings on the label.

So cans of insecticide could have been shipped to camps with perfect plausible deniability to their inhuman use. Oh? You didn’t fumigate the camp residents’ clothes? You fumigated the residents? We’re shocked! (And wouldn’t dare say anything lest the Nazi machine crush the would be whistle blowers.)
