Perhaps a separate country for the Kurds and Pastuan’s in Afghanistan/Packistan would lead to more stability. Not counting on it though.
Double? We’d need at least twenty times as many troops if you want to invade the DPRK, hold it and recover all unexpended nuclear ordinance according to estimates I’ve seen. We’ll need a bigger Army.

We (U.S.) may perform some sort of surgical black ops utilizing special operations forces. But, there aint gonna be a large deployment of several divisions against the Norks. We would be playing right into their wheel house. Aint gonna happen.
