Former President Jimmy Carter took a not-so-subtle jab at President Donald Trump and his supporters Friday on an episode of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS, suggesting that Americans who voted for him wanted “a jerk” to be president.
“Does America kind of want a jerk as president?” CBS host Stephen Colbert pressed the former president on the late-night talk show.
“Apparently, from this recent election, yes,” Carter replied. “I never knew it before.”
Colbert then asked Carter what he thought is the most important quality for a president.
“I used to think it was to tell the truth, but I’ve changed my mind lately,” the former president said.
The late-night host asked Carter if he had any political ambitions to run in the 2020 election.
“Is there any chance you’re running in 2020 – because we could use a nice guy in the Oval Office?” Colbert asked.
“I think there’s an age limit,” the 93-year-old former president jokingly replied, after which Colbert presented him with a T-shirt with the words “Carter 2020: Still Constitutionally Eligible.”

Just recently Carter was quoted as saying that he had never seen such a media onslaught against any president before. That was and is the truth. My guess is that Carter knew with whom he was dealing and his audience, and played to that.
I guess Mr. Carter wants to reclaim his title as ‘Most despised former president still alive.’
And to think, just three days ago, he was saying ‘No, don’t impeach Trump!’. That must have just been a ploy to get a new round of attention. To get invited on talk shows again.

The last four refused to enforce the laws and borders.
Sorry Jimmah. We already had a jerk for a president and until Obonzo crawled onto the scene, the jerk was considered the worst president ever. Obonzo stole the title from him.
Carter’s losing sleep with worry that President Trump will succeed in denuclearizing NK, who suckered Jimmah and Slick Willie into financing their nuke research while promising to end their program.
Jimmah and Slick created the NK problem Trump must now manage.

“Not as much a jerk than you, Mr. Colbert. And this is still a free country, any jerk can run and be elected president.”
