Laura Ingraham is taking a vacation next week. Now the question is whether a controversy swirling around the host will go on hiatus as well.
The popular Fox News Channel host – her “Ingraham Angle” was the fourth most-watched cable-news program in February – told viewers Friday night she would not appear on air next week as she took what she described as a pre-planned break around the Easter holiday with her children. Substitute hosts are expected to fill in for her on the program.
She leaves in the midst of heightened scrutiny. Ingraham set off an imbroglio Wednesday with a Twitter post mocking Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student David Hogg, one of the students who has spoken out about gun control prominently since a February 14th shooting incident at the Parkland, Florida school left 17 people dead. Her tweet linked to a report noting Hogg had been rejected from four California colleges. Her tweet also said Hogg “whines about” the rejections. In response, Hogg posted on social media a list of recent advertisers in her program culled from Media Matters, a left-leaning watchdog group, and urged followers to pressure them to remove their commercials from Ingraham’s show. Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, TripAdvisor, Nutrish, Expedia and Hulu – a video-streaming company partly owned by Fox News parent 21st Century Fox – are among the advertisers who have said they would no longer advertise in her program.
Ingraham apologized Thursday via Twitter, noting that she was sorry “for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland.” She invited the student to appear on her program. Hogg said he would not accept her apology.

Correction- IF FOX NEWS were true pros- they would have anticipated it and said “Fine, let these advertisers go- there are plenty of decent constitution loving conservative companies out there who will gladly take their place”

I guess she has enough to retire. Hope so, although to be tagged by a puke like little Joseph Hoeggels would grate like damnation to me.
This has little to do with Laura. She was not given a choice. She signed a contract with Fox and they can force her to dance their dance. They were the ones handling this badly. If anyone at Fox had any balls, they would have explained to their sponsors that their audience can handle not worshipping a little high school punk with big selfish dreams. The world should not be dancing to the tune of a one sided political agenda. The sponsors should appreciate opinionated hosts on both sides and appreciate the audiences of the same. Diversity of opinion.
And if the little sh*t punk still begged the sponsors to leave Ingraham’s Show, screw them and get better sponsors.
Disappoint that Laura would back down even an inch.

It seems to me that the big difference between Cruz and Hogg is that Hogg hasn’t completely snapped yet. It will be “interesting” to see what happens when he does. Pray he hurts no one other than himself.

It’s a good time for Ingraham to walk away from the BS being peddled by CNN, Disney, and Comcast.
Even if she comes back, she’s been neutered.
Stuart Varney is the only FOX host worth watching. I have seen him actually APOLOGIZE for interrupting a guest. Varney is a gentleman and is the antithesis of Sean Vanity who competes with his guests.
Dobbs is a mumbling, bumbling moron who antagonizes his guests non-stop. He is competing with Hannity for the most interruptions per hour.
Hannity just keeps repeating the same old crap he said a month ago and never lets a guest offer updates or express an opinion with constant interruptions.
After failing to destroy the 2nd Amendment, Hogg is now busy trying to destroy the 1st.
. If i had a bazillion I would start a network with hard news and objective investigations and fewer yelling heads.

She enjoys radio more than TV. She will use the time to spend with her kids and then come back and quit. Fox News is trash

Laura has fought the good fight for quite some time. But being a female, prime-time, and conservative FNC host really made her a target.
Unfortunately she wasn’t clever enough to sidestep the trap with Hogg.
