Juan is quite the judge of medical competence and leadership.
Rear Admiral Jackson completed med school at the University of Texas (undergrad degree at Texas A&M); completed residencies at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA; one in transitional medicine, the other in emergency medicine (finished at the top of his class in that latter residency). Qualified as a medical dive officer, submarine medical officer and directed medical support for a Navy EOD group.
He’s been a White House physician for the past 10 years; joined the medical staff after a combat tour in Iraq where he headed a team charged with keeping badly wounded Marines alive until they could be transferred to a mobile surgical hospital (or similar facility).
The VA is the ultimate swamp, but the idea that Dr. Jackson never “ran anything” is ludicrous. If he can bring in the best talent from military medicine and the private sector, he can make a real difference at the agency.
See my post 57.
You said it way better than I could!
THIS is the man we need NOW.
