If China exerts more influence on NK than they already have and take credit for NK denuclearization, Kim stays in power and any hopes for reunification of the north and south are lost forever.
We should've bombed NK with heavy conventional weapons then made our move and secured the place then forced a north and south reunification.
It's all about timing and it appears China cut in line and stole our (and South Korea's) potential thunder.

Reunification would cost South Korea hundreds of billions of dollars and integrating disparate economies, political systems and militaries is a tall order.
It makes the German reunification look like a Sunday walk in the park.

South Korea can’t afford unification. 100 times more expensive than West and East Germany.
