I would give Rush a break until you try what he does. It’s a lot harder than it looks.

Point taken.

But Limbaugh has always had a hesitation about Trump that he never expressed with his nostalgia over Reagan.

Limbaugh did not cut his teeth in radio until Reagan had already won hearts and minds of Americans. Reagan’s greatness was on full display in 1988 when Limbaugh was learning how to handle a microphone.

What Limbaugh doesn’t get is that in 1981-1982-1983 Reagan was hated and maligned, derided by the GOP establishment and nearly within a hair assassinated by someone close to the rotten Bush family.

There have been assassination attempts on Donald Trump. Still, Donald has shown more courage than most Americans by wearing a bullet-proof vest into rallies of tens of thousands of screaming Americans. This from a man who could easily spend the rest of his days in comfort on the golf course living a life of splendor. For that alone, Donald deserves the highest praise and respect from patriotic Americans, yet Limbaugh hesitates.

The difference in Limbaugh on Reagan and Limbaugh on Trump is that Limbaugh came AFTER Reagan had ascended to greatness from miscast ignominy whereas Limbaugh is experiencing the miscast ignominy of Trump as he ascends to greatness. Limbaugh never experienced the dark days of Reagan, only the glow of Reagan’s success when Reagan had become a beloved President. With Trump, he’s reacting to the dark forces that surround Trump and he is hesitant to jump into Trump’s camp with both feet, why?

I guarantee that had Limbaugh been covering Reagan in 1983, he would be just as hesitant with Reagan as he is now with Trump.

Limbaugh thinks Trump is unpredictable, so was Reagan.

Limbaugh thinks Trump’s poll numbers support his hesitancy. Reagan’s poll numbers in 1983 were worse than Trump’s numbers are now.

So why is it that Limbaugh is one of the first to jump in and declare that Trump is ‘going back up the elevator’?

It’s because Limbaugh wasn’t there to cover the dark days of Reagan’s presidency.

Limbaugh and his microphone cane AFTER Reagan had won the heart of America. Limbaugh came on the scene when Reagan’s poll numbers were in the high 70s. Hell, even Pappy Bush had poll numbers in 1990 at 90+%. NINETY FRICKIN PERCENT! And Bush didn’t deserve those numbers. He got them only because he was viewed as Reagan Part II, Reagan the Sequel until the public became aware he was a big Reagan nothing.

So why is Limbaugh not understanding history and making himself jump on the Trump Train?

Because he’s hedging his bets. He’s a little cowardly.

Ok, so he’s not as great as he thinks he is.

I’ll give him one thing, he’s built an audience, a large one, and he has a lot of good people feed him good information which he has the ability to understand is good information. For example, he read yesterday from information that was handed him, ostensibly by someone he respects, that the Rules Committee overrode restrictions put into the Omnibus against using military funding to build the Trump Wall.

The backstory of the Rules Committee was a useful piece of information that helps clear up the confusion surrounding the Omnibus and the interpretations that people were arguing about. So Trump is right, the Wall may be built using military funding or ‘M’, M meaning either military or Mexico, Trump stoking the media. My take is Trump starts the Wall and gives Congress one more shot to get it right else he moves military funding into the Wall construction and/or he tears Mexico a new one with a renegotiated NAFTA and from that comes Wall funding. Either way, just as President Trump said Friday, more funding for the Wall will ‘follow’.

But what I noticed about Limbaugh when he was announcing the information about what the Rules Committee had done to afford Trump multiple options on many things, was that Limbaugh while reading couched his comments with distanced conditionals such as “people are trying” to find a silver lining in Trump’s Omnibus signing. In other words, the Rules Committee actions were brought by people “trying to find”, “trying to spin”, etc. That means Limbaugh is still not on the Trump Train. He’s in the Michael Reagan, Mark Levin tent. And that’s why I call Limbaugh ‘Lamebutt’.
