Wasn’t the Alaskan highway built by the US military? Therefore, isn’t there a precedent for the military building public works projects when it is for national defense?

The Army Corps of Engineers builds stuff all the time.

This comes under the Constitutional *mandate* for the federal government to protect us from foreign invasion.

“Providing for the common defense” is the *only* mandate you will find in the Constitution.

The President alone has authority to conduct foreign policy and act as CIC.

The whole thing passes Constitutional muster easily. If we have an honest SCOTUS, it’s bulletproof,

The people working on the wall don’t have to be in the military. It would be a military project. Military money can fund the job being done. Just like building a jet or military hardware.
