If President Trump follows through on his threat to withhold wall construction in California until the whole project is funded, and instead drops this year’s whole $1.6 billion for 90 or more miles in the Rio Grande Valley, it could effectively shut off the flow through McAllen and Brownsville by the end of 2019.

That is currently the highest rate of crossing anywhere along the border. Another hundred miles next year could transform the situation a year later at other high-crossing areas, like twenty miles in Laredo, twenty miles in El Paso, etc.

Everything will likely start flowing into California instead, until they beg for a wall. Maybe then the people will get fed up with the mess the Democrats are making there.
