MIssissippi has its share of monsters, too. Jessica Chambers was killed by one of the Mississippi monsters. My daughter attends Ole Miss where recently two drunk coeds stupidly got in a car with thugs from Batesville. One wised up and got out, the other stayed with them and was raped. I live in Desoto County, MS, just south of Memphis. I’m safely in Memphis every day. It’s all about knowing the city. Most of these crimes are black on black and confined to sketchy parts of town those of us who live here know to avoid.
I stopped going years ago, used to love oak court mall ages ago. Memphis has great cultural events, but it’s just unsafe. We only go to the airport & the people who work there.......
I go shopping in Collierville & eat w/ a friend at Huey’s. Or go to Tupelo. If anyone doubt’s the 3rd world status of Memphis then read “The Blindside.” We had friends who had a beautiful home in midtown & they finally sold it because the crime was getting too close. And yes the incident in Oxford was insane! Why would a beautiful girl go with two thugs she didn’t know??? She’s lucky she got out alive.
