Trump signs $1.3 trillion spending bill despite veto threat on Twitter
Washington Post ^ | March 23, 2018 | John Wagner and Mike DeBonis

Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown. In a morning tweet, Trump said he might veto the omnibus bill because it does nothing to address the fate of young undocumented immigrants known as “dreamers” and does not fully fund his border wall. But speaking to reporters at the White House about four hours later, Trump said he had decided to sign the bill despite his reservations, arguing that it provides much-needed funding for the military, including a pay increase for troops and new equipment.Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown.

There are wire fences going up at the border as we speak. Nothing is being dismantled. A barrier is being built. Reinforcements are incoming.

I think the GOPe had their panties in as much of a wad, as the Dims did, when the Tea Party showed up in YUGE numbers, to protest 0CommieCare.

POTUS Trump is probably wondering where the heck we are. Where is the Calvary??

Huge Trump supporters here. WE feel much better knowing that Omnibus is NOT an official ‘Federal Budget’. It’s an Omnibus “spending” bill; A bogus list, and not so bogus list of “Suggestions on how to spend the money”. President Trump outsmarted them again . Congress basically screwed themselves by not passing a Budget ... Per the Constitution. President Trump can spend the money on any item he wants!

That said, why would we let a dusty antiquated document written by White slave-owning men control what we do today? :(

I hear and agree with you, but I am just being honest.

The Dems need an energized Black vote to win in 2020 while keeping previous Hitlery voters just as excited, and Sen. Harris fits the bill, so they will make her an NBC regardless of the Constitution.

We actually don’t need a wall with today’s technology and the imminent technology of tomorrow which is just getting here.

We’ve got the midterms coming up and that has paralyzed the GOP as always. Next year will be Mueller 24/7/365 instead of advancing a conservative agenda. Year after that is POTUS election year. So it seems near certain at this point that the criminal Dems and GOP (beltway “conservatives” included) have managed to trash most of Trump’s first term.

We’ve got to get him reelected and hope the 2nd term will be on MAGA terms.

Irrelevant, the bill specifically restricts the use of anything but a bollard style barrier ...

I LOVE IT! You will be disappointed however because there are many shiny turds on this thread that don’t have the mental capacity for that.

Sort of like climbing 90 feet up a hundred foot wall and falling off the ladder.

Here's what's been accomplished under Trump. Tell us what you don't like about:

Trump has: Cut corporate tax cuts almost in half, cut in billions in regulations, enacted tariffs to protect US jobs, nominated the most conservative justices of any President in history, destroyed ISIS, cut back the staff of the EPA and denounced global warming, revoked funding for PP internationally and allowed states to de-fund PP. and, now, managed to provided funding to rebuild our military, which was gutted under Obama. Border security and enforcement infinitely better than it was under Obama.

The Republic establishment and its donors are blocking funding for the wall for obvious reasons (cheap labor) and a handful of liberal Senators are blocking the defunding of PP. Trump is using DACA to try to get funding for the wall and worked hard to get an Obamacare repeal passed that included the de-funding of PP. It's absurd to say he hasn't tried or doesn't want to accomplish those objectives.

Anyone should, on balance, be thrilled with what Trump has accomplished in 14 months. It easily surpasses what Reagan accomplished in his first 14 months, But, he needs more conservatives in Congress to get the rest of his agenda passed.

No border wall.
Caps Ice Police
Caps number of Illegals Detained
Gives money to Jordan for border wall.
Gives money to Vietnam for military
Gives money to China for economic enhancement?
Gives money to Sanctuary cites.
Gives money to Planned Parenthood
Does not defund Obama care.
Gives congress a pay raise.

So what did we get? The bill!
