Really just around I-5 westward. The eastern 2/3rds of OR and WA are pretty conservative. The sad part is that city dwellers in Seattle, Olympia, Portland, Salem, Eugene, are the population centers. They determine what happened for the entire state(s) from their little liberal bubbles/sounding chamber. I other words it kinda sucks living here. These people truly are nuts.
The same is true in California, 1/3 of the State dictates to the 2/3. It helps that the 144% voters vs the 100% registered to vote all reside in the costal cities.
While living in WA that fact was divine home on numerous occasions. I did some quick math based on the demographics of eastern WA and determined that if voter turnout could be improved by just 10% without any corresponding increase from the west part of the state(population centers) then the East could negate the wests control of the state. voter turnout has always and will always be key to winning elections. Some people just can’t be motivated to participate.
