BREAKING: Former Georgia Gov. Zell Miller has died.
I will never forget his ‘spitball’ fiery speech during one of the National Republican Convention, even though he’s a lifelong Democrat.
Rest in peace.
Oh, that's right! What year was that? That particular CPAC was a lot of fun. And -- yes -- Democrat Zell Miller was quite the GOP darling. :-)
Zell Miller was a good, honorable man. I'm sorry to learn he suffered from Parkinson's Disease in his later years. May he rest in peace...
Really the last of the moderate Dems. A lot of them I disagreed with their politics, but I didn’t doubt they wanted good things for the country, just they had different views on how to make it happen than I did. A shame that their party has tilted so hard to the extreme left.
RIP..This is a true gentleman and great Democrat..A real man working for the people and not the party..It was a sad day when he left Washington and took his values with him..
Yes, and a former executive secretary to the late GA Governor Lester Maddox, who had one of the more successful administrations in Atlanta and once called Jimmuh Carter “the most dishonest man I ever met.”
Indeed. RIP.
Last honest democrat
RIP Zell Miller... Decent Democrat! Semper Fi
Rest in peace.
I was just thinking about him lately, and how after he had left DC, I heard him give an interview on the radio.
He obviously couldn’t say some things out loud, but his voice trembled a little. Maybe fear for the future of the country.
He was about as tough as they come, so whatever was wrong with his party was more than he could fix from the inside.
His book was on eBay recently for a dollar a copy, but I don’t have a spare minute these days so I didn’t get it
My sister is retired now and would love to read it for her own interest, and could give me the highlights, so I guess I’ll plan on ordering it when I get back to work, tomorrow.

“David P. Schippers is still alive...
I read his book years ago. To this day, when someone mentions that Bill Clinton was persecuted for no good reason, I remind them of who David Schippers was and that he thought Clinton was guiltier than sin. I tell them to read the book and then get back to me.
