Any parent pretending to believe perennial teenage angst is suddenly the moral epitome for a democracy (even though we are a republic, unbeknown to many), is retarding their kids maturity and is lousy nurturing.

A free people must be able to absorb a degree of contention among the citizenry. Too many are still maladjusted at later and later ages partly because consequence of action has become more and more shielded in youth. This social retarding is on full display lately, pushing an agenda that is detrimental to the founding values responsible for the very existence of the USA.
