He could never turn it off. When someone is like that in an interview, it makes you wonder if something’s wrong with them.
But, then he started making all kinds of serious movies. The rule of thumb for a while was:
Bearded Robin Williams—serious drama
Clean-shaven Robin Williams—comedy
Of course, I don’t believe he had a beard in One Hour Photo. Exception that proves the rule?
That interview I posted in #97, he’s classic Robin Williams, but he does get serious in some parts.
