A retired Army lieutenant colonel and Fox News contributor quit the network Tuesday, accusing it of fueling paranoia among its audience and serving as a “propaganda machine” for the Trump administration.
Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, a “strategic analyst” at Fox News, made the comments in an email to colleagues announcing that he had not renewed his contract, obtained by BuzzFeed.
“Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to ‘support and defend the Constitution,’ and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers. Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed,” Mr. Peters reportedly wrote.

Two points:
1. Good riddance.
2. Did he quit before Fox News was about to announce that they won’t be renewing his contract? A “you can’t fire me, because I quit”?
MI is a fairly small branch, so reaching 0-6 rank, especially during his time on active duty would have been tough for any MI officer.
He’s an ass all the same with a fixation on the Russians still being the Soviet Union. I was an OCS TAC Officer in 1980, but I don’t remember him as a candidate. He may have been assigned to the other sister company in our battalion at Benning.
What a drama queen.
I never really liked him. He was not only arrogant, but more book smart than field smart IMO.

He spent ten years in Germany in “MI” and assigned as a “Foreign Area Officer” specializing on the Soviets.
He’s been to Germany twice. Second time he was “Military Intelligence” serving as a “Foreign Area Officer” (specialist on the Soviets).
Not sure why he became so unhinged. He disliked Donald Trump especially as he was bad mouthing Trump the past three years.

Never understood why Fox News would hire a retired LTC for that position. Certainly they could have found a smart retired COL or General.
