A former congressman from Hawaii said Monday hes leaving the Republican Party because of President Donald Trump and the failure of fellow party members to stand up to him.
Charles Djou, who represented Honolulu in the U.S. House from 2010 to 2011, wrote in an opinion piece published in Civil Beat on Monday hes disturbed that the Republican Party under Trump has become hostile to immigration.

Oh, they understand the difference alright. The issue is voters - and liberals will do whatever it takes to regain and hold on to power. They will be “king of the hill” - even if it means standing on a hill of rubble.
This is why, as Rush always says, you must not compromise with liberals. They must be defeated, and destroyed.
The more the liberals and RINO retards continue with this hostility towards President Trump, the closer America inches towards a second civil war. But perhaps that is exactly what the liberal traitors want. They should be very careful what they wish for; because, in the event of a “hot war,” there will be no mercy shown them - it will be “shoot on sight.”
But, but - if you send all the illegals to Hawaii, might the island “tip over?” /s
“...May he rot in hell.”
And, when he gets there, may he be endlessly sodomized with a chain saw.
Dijou was elected in a special election created when Democrat, Neil Abercrombie, resigned from Congress to run for Governor of Hawaii. In that election, five Democrats, four Republicans, and four independent candidates were competing for a top vote wins the seat election. That divided vote elected Dijou with 39.4% of the vote to the vacant seat. In short, his election was a fluke.
Dijous term was also short (May to January 2010). When the 2010 general election came, Dijou was defeated by Democratic nominee State Senator Colleen Hanabusa, who won by a 53% to 47% margin. Since that loss, Dijou ran for Congress 2 more times and Mayor of Honolulu. He lost them all. In short, he is a loser.
This is part of an open letter Dijou gave just before the GOP 2016 Caucus in Hawaii:
I am disappointed in President Obamas constant application of unconstitutional executive privilege and his preference to divide Americans for partisan political gain. Mr. Trump, however, promises to out-do Obama. I believe America needs a President who respects our nations constitution and the separation of powers. But Mr. Trump repeatedly stated that if elected President he will approach the position of Commander-in-Chief as an autocrat that reigns with an unmatched disregard for American precedent and practice. His admiration for dictators like Russias Vladimir Putin and comfort in quoting despots like Benito Mussolini is utterly disturbing and in discord with our American values.
He ended this open letter with these words:
Tomorrow night, I hope you will join me in making your voice heard by voting in the Hawaii GOP Presidential caucus. You can find the polling locations here. I hope you support my favored candidate, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, but I also hope that you will join me in the growing movement: #NeverTrump.
I think that Dijou knew that a Trump Presidency would drain the swamp and that the great hog trough in Washington DC would have no more slop for Dijou and his money laundering friends.
Judging Dijou’s voting record in Congress, I consider him a Democrat mole working against the Republicans.
Forgive me for misspelling Djou’s name. In my post I spelled his name Dijou. I have no idea how one would pronounce a name like Djou.
Headline seeker.....
WaPo is really hurting for stories that are anti-Trump.
This is the equivalent of a story about Deshaun down at the car wash in Baltimore saying he wouldn’t vote for Trump.
You got that right!
Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
There are many more switchers going to Trump, like the West Virginia guy.
He’s “former”, so do we really give a damn? This is news?
He’s probably angling for a commentator gig on MSNBC.
I always find it amusing when people I and most people, have never heard of, make a big dramatic announcement about themselves, as if anyone cares.
Ronaldus Magnus said it best: "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant: It's just that they know so much that isn't so."
Djou was
He’s a typical liberal Djou.
I can match that:
tomkat, former carpenter from Pennsylvania, quits GOP, citing gutless globalist surrender monkeys.
I’ll say it. There aren’t any Republican’s in Hawaii, and especially not former elected officials.
Ha! Spread out over 3 or 4 islands,
it shouldn’t be too bad...
He looks like an Obama Pajama Boy.
