A New Jersey high school came under fire Friday after it allegedly suspended two students over a gun photo taken during a family visit to a shooting range.
News of the unnamed students' suspension circulated through a Lacey Township Facebook group, according to NJ.com.
Amanda Buron, a Lacey resident and family friend of one of the suspended students said one of the photos shared on SnapChat featured four rifles, ammunition clips and a gun duffel with the caption "fun day at the range," NJ.com reported.
Buron said the two students received a five-day in-school suspension after the picture drew the attention of Lacey Township High School officials, who argued that it violated the schools policy on weapons possession.
The school district shortly faced community backlash for the alleged suspension, with many calling for people to appear at the school board's next meeting on Monday to protest the decision.
The school, however, denied the students were suspended over the picture.
"Information posted on social media is incorrect, Lacey schools Superintendent Craig Wigley told the publication last week. The officials declined to provide any additional details or point out what exactly was false.

[[”reported to be in possession of a weapon of any type for any reason or purpose on or off school grounds.”]]
“reported to be the author of an unapproved opinion of any type for any reason or purpose on or off school grounds.”
Yep.
Unbelievable. Yet here we are.
The officials declined to provide any additional details or point out what exactly was false.
Because they lie. They always lie.
L
They will be sued and they will lose.
Students don’t lose their 1st and 2nd Amendment rights off school grounds.
Its none of the school district’s business to tell parents how they can raise kids - like take them down to the local gun club for some weekend fun.
Now they’ve opened themselves to ligitation. What fun!
Sieg Heil!
Taxpayers will be the ones paying. School admin, district won’t give a damn.
Remember the taxpayers vote these people in. They will fix the problem.
It couldn't have been this kind of clip.
Because I'm sure school officials would have thought that was just fine.
A record 2,700 students were expected to compete in the 48th Annual Cornhusker Trapshoot May 4-6, 2017 on the home grounds of the Nebraska Trapshooting Association (NTA) in Doniphan, Nebraska.
Yup...2,700 students with SHOTGUNS and AMMUNITION all handling them safely and having a great time. Competition is open to any U.S. school teams who’ve completed a safety course. Many school teams shoot competitively during the school year.
In any state, the syllabus of subjects to be taught, and proficiency measured, should include a segment on on the needs and proper use of weapons, including personal firearms, as an essential component of a free society.
Why are decent people still sending their kids to public indoctrination schools?
Seems this school policy violates the Constitution. Exactly like the sanctuary cities violate the Constitution. Federal law is supposed to Trump local, right? Arrest the principal and school board. Send them to Federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison while they wait for their trials.
Some school officials must be suspended for infringing upon students constitutional rights.
Any female student that had an abortion must be suspended for murder.
All patriot parents must begin recalls of board members that allow these unAmerican activities.
Now theyve opened themselves to ligitation. What fun!
Seems to be the only way. These school administrators are slow learners. Multi-million dollar lawsuits appears to be the only way to get them to wise up and realize you can’t deny people’s constitutional rights including assembly, free speech, and free association and being free to pursue legal activities.
Didnt the kid post a copy of his suspension notice, which clearly gave his photo of the gun range visit as the reason. These people are liars or that photo was doctored. Im betting on the liars.
” on or off school grounds.”
Don’t be having any wrong thinking off school grounds either.
“They will be sued and they will lose.”
They’re all ripe for the picking...Hey, that gives me an idea!
