The problem with the 'coming to the rescue' meme is that implies, whether intentionally or not, that the only motive for US involvement in the European war was altruistic, for the benefit of others, rather than because the US had its own national interests at stake. Machiavelli conclusively demonstrated some 500 years ago that no 'prince' [nation] ever goes to war except in its own national interests. That those interests sometimes temporarily coincide with others, so that alliances are formed, is secondary. Again, whether intentional or not, 'coming to the rescue' implies that those allies (Britain in particular) did nothing to help themselves, which is clearly nonsense.

Certainly in the case of the alliance with the USSR, that is applicable.
I will certainly never forget “Very well; alone” and “Keep calm and carry on” (the latter in its original context rather than the multifarious and sometimes insulting parody memes).

What is nonsense is denying the factual reality that the US saved the Euro bacon from both the Nazis and then the Soviets.
Northern and Central Europe were gone to the Blitzkrieg. What power was going to be the arsenal of democracy to save them?
Nobody. It was over for them. Britain was spared only because its island nation was harder to take. But they almost lost their entire army at Dunkirk.
Without us, the Euros are speaking German and after many years, maybe worse, by speaking Russian.
You people are not history deniers. You are clearly factual deniers and have little reasoning power.
