With my neck problems I can’t do much, but I can now walk into my walk in closet! I have someone that comes in every two weeks and helps me out vacuuming and other things hard for me to do. My main problem is I have so much stuff I’ve accumulated in my life and got from my parents. Some of it is very meaningful to me and I hope it will be to whoever I give it to, and some of it everybody wants. I have really downsized and would like to have less of these things taking up space. I’m not a hoarder by any means, just older and a keeper, LOL I still have my own first baby shoes, what do I do with them?
I don’t think our kids put as much store in the little things that we have saved through out the years, not as much sentimentality.
I had a fire 30 yrs. ago that really downsized what I had collected, however, some real keepsakes were tucked away in an outside store room, was so thankful but don’t think my kids will want much, could be surprised.
I have things in baggies with a little note, things that were my grandfathers, my grandmothers, moms and dads. And some of my stuff. Hubby gives away or throws away his stuff, had to talk him out of throwing away his letters home when he was in the Navy, said no one will want them, really! He read thru them and realized it was history on those pages. And get this, he admitted I was right!
Sorry to hear your still having problems with your neck. I’ve had a soft neck brace on all day today. It helps me when I’m tired. I too have things I have kept and I’ve been told by my son...he’s not interested in taking them. Little by little I’ve been donating some but can’t part with others.
