Theories range from a highly placed insider to a bright if somewhat imaginative 16 y.o. broadcasting from in his parent’s basement. Both explanations are plausible.

These 2 guys can’t get out of their own way. They will stay miles away from any potential confrontation or controversy.

On being duplicitous.... “Muslims=most duplicitous people on the planet.” McConnell and Ryan have elevated Back-stabbing to an art form.
Compare the anti-Trump coup in all its dimensions to a classic “destabilization” operation, as used repeatedly by the CIA to interfere in other countries’ elections and governments. Would an experienced CIA man who happened to be a leftist ideologue scrupple to manipulate domestic politics the same way? Such people see perfidy as serving a “Higher Loyalty”.
Two US entities have with extensive networks of operatives, foreign and domestic, planted throughout government, courts, media, civil society, academia, and business. The Democrat Party is one, the CIA is the other. Brennan is my candidate for planner and manager of every bit of this.
She is the ideal the media should be aspiring to. Instead she was spied on by the Obama administration for trying to report honestly.
She is an honest, class act for the work she does.
