I was a huge Gowdy fan, (as well as of Sessions).
Both are proven chameleons. By way of the courageous mouth of Lou Dobbs, I learned about Gowdy.
This business with Gowdy, since he announced his exit, has put a stop on my admiration. His go-to excuse has always been “denial of documents” that “interferes with drawing conclusions”.
(As if he never heard of a subpoena, or even jailing the non-compliants.)
Can’t tell you how many times I fell for that oh so convincing line, and defended him, on that count. He is so oratorically gifted that if he were on our side, I thought he could probably have jailed Hillary, single handedly.
I really admired him. Huge disappointment.
Me too - but his comments probably have more to do with not wanting to mess up whatever gig he’s got lined up after he leaves. Even with his comments he’s one of the better ones up there though that is setting the bar pretty low.
