Yes, that is often overlooked. Also overlooked are the men like my son and his friends who are recently out of the military. Think of how many soldiers are currently in service vs. the number of men who are out...of any age.
But before this could happen, the government of the People's Republic of California would have to win a civil war to subdue the "red" counties in Northern and Eastern California, most of whose citizens will rally to the Stars and Stripes. Since these areas are full of gun owners and military veterans, Sacramento would likely be at a disadvantage and would have to look abroad for military aid.
But they wouldn't have to wait long. Cuba would be eager to provide military assistance, and China and maybe Russia would likely chip in as well, and the European Union would provide generous economic aid. Meanwhile, most of the world's nations would open embassies in Sacramento and California would be welcomed into the United Nations.

The Mexican army can’t even control small towns in their state of Guerrero. The people there formed local, armed militias to protect themselves. How would a Mexicanized army control small towns in America?

Folks say the Chinese don’t have the ability to move their armies overseas, but I posit their state-owned shipping company can be used for that purpose.
Because as we all know, their government owns a giant container shipping company.

International military intervention would galvanize both sides against this international nonsense. And ESPECIALLY any communists. An insane idea for sure.

Make no mistake, the fanatics on the left would be content with the USA turned into a wasteland. With that in mind, the outcome of a civil war may hinge on which side has the ‘nuclear briefcase’. In other words, which side represents the government and which side adopts the position of revolutionary when the war breaks out. The left would use any method at its disposal to defeat the right. Notice I didn’t say ‘to win’, but to ‘defeat the right’. This means using poison, mass killings, even going nuclear. Much easier to do when you don’t consider you enemy to be human...

It irks me too, that it's always the Left controlling the language and forcing us to go along with whatever new definitions they dream up today.
On the other hand, Southerners before Russert were red Democrats, now they're red Republicans, probably not terribly upset about that, do you think?
