I started looking at Reagan as an intellectual matter after the debacle of 2008, explained Olsen. The Republican Party [after the 2008 election] was in the worst position it had been in since 1978. Im old enough to remember 1978 and Ronald Reagan, and I thought he brought us back before. Maybe we can learn something from how he did it. And what I learned was a Ronald Reagan that was completely different than what I had been told about. He was a Ronald Reagan who was interpreting the New Deal rather than opposing it. He was a Ronald Reagan who, most importantly, put the welfare of the average person ahead of any particular set of ideological dictums, and that meant that he could appeal to people in a way that conservatives often have failed to in the decades since.
One of the things that I remember about Ronald Reagan is how he championed the auto worker and the auto industry in 1980, said Mansour. How he talked about how we were going to bring back the auto industry. Were not going to let it die. That was the Ronald Reagan that I remember that won Michigan, and Michigan loved him. This sounds foreign to the GOP today, which is just horrified, horrified, I tell you, that we would do anything to protect our own industry as if were committing some sort of sin against the dogmatic high church of free trade.

The first few months of the Trump presidency were a little wobbly, but he sure has grown into the role admirably.
All politicians say it. Few mean it.
And unlike some politicians Trump keeps his word and does what he says.
I have often remarked that DJT is the kind of Democrat RWR would have voted for.
Meaning: The GOPe has so bastardized the Republican Party AND the Democrat Party has raced so far Left that there is a space for an America First politician. One that can represent both the American Worker and a limited Government approach, while supporting Business reforms and a proper role for “Gun Boat” Diplomacy.
Trump is NOT a Big C Conservative. What he is, is a practical American who wants what, he finds in his heart to be best, for ALL Americans.
Trump is about to knife legal gun owners in the back.
Caved on his “I’ll never let you down.” promise pretty quickly.
Couldnt agree more
‘Cause he’s mainly a businessman, not a politician.
The goal of free trade is not a suicide pact.
One must survive to lead the way.
One must have more faith in President Trump; he listens to us. He likes to get the dems all spun up (which causes some of our folks to twitch) and then actually deliver on conservative solutions.
The 2018 election is key. He wants those extra Senators. Playing it just safe enough so as not to jeopardize. We must hold the house to see Trump really be Trump. Get ready for a fun ride.
DO not bet on it.....Rick Scott jumped the shark.....Trump not likely...
this will blow over in a couple of months..
Don’t light your hair on fire....
