They don’t. But they’re instrumental in getting the ball rolling.
To them - boys who are not docile as lambs is the result of some kind of pathological problem.

When did public schools start dispensing drugs?Back in the 80s my son was put on Ritalin, at the request of a school "child studies team".

Actually, many schools "dispense" the medication prescribed to children by their doctors and sent to school by their parents. That is the only way to make sure it is not stolen.
However, I do agree with other posters here in that our children, especially boys, are over medicated to suppress natural child activities such as playing and talking.
