Looks like they're suing over the age restriction only.

The Republicans control the House the Senate and the Presidency and we still lose additional 2nd amendment rights. This is completely unacceptable.

It's quite possible this one bill signed by Scott will cost the Republicans the majority in the house. I realize its only Florida but we should be rolling back gun control laws not adding new ones. I think we will lose Florida completely now so even if we do keep the house how will President Trump win reelection without Florida?

There is no excuse for Republicans passing new gun control legislation.

US Code says all men 17 to 49 years old are militia members. The 2nd amendment says that the right to keep and bear arms, in part because of the needs of the militia.

So, it is a violation of US Code under the Constitution to restrict those 17 and older from purchasing firearms. This Florida law is restricting those 17-20 from purchasing firearms.

We need just one damned age of “adulthood” and at that point your parents have every right to kick your ass out on the street and say, well buck-o you are an adult now go forth and put a roof over your own damned head!!!!

Well obviously a good parent will raise their kids so they are ready to move out before that age and are all self sufficient.

That age should also be voting age too.

The National Rifle Association has filed a federal lawsuit over gun control legislation Florida Gov. Rick Scott has signed, saying it violates the Second Amendment

The NRA is wrong here. States are sovereign outside expressed U.S. Constitutional limits (the 2nd amendment is pointed directly at the feds).

Florida is not constitutionally prohibited from passing this law, but I’m willing to bet the virtual tyrannical discretion given to the police violates the Florida State Constitution.

The age to buy guns should be same as the voting age.

The ID requirements should be same for buying a gun and voting.

So, The damned SPRINO (Stupid Republican In Name Only), Gov. Rick Scott, caved in to the left and signed the bill. Proves he’s a gutless wonder with no testicular fortitude. Proves he cares more for lawless individuals than for Law-Abiding American Citizens. 18- to 21 in the State cannot own a firearm now, but CAN DIE DEFFENDEING OUR COUNTRY. This proves that Gov. Scott is a follower of the lawless left and is a against Law Abiding American Citizen.

It raises the question, “why is 18 years old constitutional?”

It is discrimination and it won’t help. That said if you’re going to make the argument kids under the age of 21 I’m not mentally developed enough to responsibly handle a gun then they shouldn’t be in the military nor should they vote. Personally I’d be okay with waiting till 25 because that’s when your brain finally finishes developing your rational thinking skills.
