Back in the anti-gun hysteria of 1968, it was pointed out that Mexico had more murders with knives than the USA had with guns.
The news media said it was due to the “Macho” culture there and we had none of that here.
Well, it is now here.

I wonder why it is that when the gun-grabbers talking points refer to societies where there's strict gun control but few murders or suicides using guns, they never include Mexico in the list of countries with strict gun laws and few murders. Or how they conveniently leave Japan out of the discussion when talking about how a gun makes a successful suicide more likely?
Of course it's because those examples contradict the narrative.
