President Trump suggested executing drug dealers to crack down on America’s opioid crisis.
“The drug dealers, the drug pushers, they’re really doing damage,” Trump said at an opioid event at the White House Thursday. “Some countries have a very, very tough penalty — the ultimate penalty. And by the way, they have much less of a drug problem than we do.”

FWIW, I like the idea. For once I can see the use for some federal bigfeet. Make it a federal capital offense with a special rocket docket. Televise the executions.
With the increasing legalization and availability of marijuana across this country, the Mexican cartels are focusing their efforts on the hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin, etc..
It's not worth the risk of getting caught smuggling a product across the border that's already being grown here.

The reason I thought they should be executed is that they were, in essence, bringing a death sentence to their customers. Alcohol and marijuana use don’t result in death by virtue, solely of you using them. You can, theoretically die of Alcohol abuse via drunk driving or downing an entire bottle of vodka, but it’s not the same as simply dying from normal use, which can happen with the hard stuff.
So I consider all dealers of such drugs to be murderers. Every single one of them.

By far the worse drug epidemic in the US is pushed by the MSM. Fake News, of which this article is one small example, is destroying a substantial portion of the public’s ability to think and understand. Its agents need to be put in the front of the line.

If there are, for argument’s sake, legal prescriptions for 10M doses of OXY, but production exceeds 100M doses, that’s “illegal drug dealing.” Not that complicated. Those execs will stop if they face the gallows.

I never cared to be down, out, asleep or out of control so the whole opioid thing wasn't part of MY make-up.
But speed, hallucinogens and reefer were right THERE for me.
IMO ... speed kills and hallucinogens just trip you out where ..... sometimes ..... folks don't come back.

I think the drugs and dealers that are dangerous and should be executed are the ones that kill people.
Heroin, any opioid, and anything that, if you did a wrong dose just once you died.
THAT'S the drug and the dealer that should sleep in the dirt.
If you sell dirt naps, you should take one.
Believe we been there, done that. The only ones that benefited were the CIA and the US Government as importers. The Government does not want to stop the drug trade nor the open borders that facilitate it.

OMG. If we enacted their laws a sizeable portion of our citizenry (including “undocumented”) would be on death row. It would really cull the dem voter base.
Whatever he actually said, i’m Ok with the idea. At a certain trigger level, death sentence. No appeal. Execution within 90 days. Period. Same for child sexual abuse and first degree murder.
Hang them publicly in a public square on Saturday afternoons.
For lesser crimes, bring back old fashioned stocks and whippings, in the public square, before the hangings.
