Agree. Just said a similar thing on another thread. China would still be a backwater if it wasn’t for the help of the USA. We created the monster that has destroyed our manufacturing economy.

The worst part is, it was done by making (some) people very rich.

49% ownership in the new operation, to a former owner. 51% and true actual ownership, to the new owners (the owners of China, in other words the People’s Republic itself). Then the entire factory was closed, pulled up, shipped to China as a now-Chinese plant, with a (silent) formerly western owner now gobbling up 49% of the profits in the new venture.

THOUSANDS of plants. No longer American.

That is what has happened. We have been sold out. Bigtime.

Both parties. Everyone. Get rich quick, but sell out America. It took an entire generation and a half, for someone to finally say “enough”. After 50,000 factories. Entire formerly American industries, decimated.

And we are still running an all-time record high trade deficit with China. As it all-time, EVER. By any country. With any country.

Ever.
