Attorney General Jeff Sessions is scheduled to be in Sacramento on Wednesday to make what his office describes as a major sanctuary jurisdiction announcement, just blocks from the state Capitol, where a new law making California a sanctuary state was passed and signed.
Sessions did not provide advance details of his announcement, but his Justice Department has been in an escalating legal battle with California, dozens of cities and counties in the state, including San Francisco, and hundreds nationwide whose laws and policies restrict local police and jailers from taking part in federal immigration enforcement.
His targets have included the local and state sanctuary laws, already the subject of court battles, as well as local officials like Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who publicly warned the immigrant community Feb. 24 of an impending Bay Area raid by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

I’m going to guess that it is connected to the thread a few spots down from this one. Trump is suing California over its sanctuary laws.
as bad as Sessions has been not investigating the FBI, not investigating the rats and hillary, he deserves credit for his raids against illegals...
Agreed. He does about a tenth of his job really well!
You’re too generous. Closer to 1%.
Drama queen. Actions vs. words.
Why hesitate if you are going to act?
Just do it.
Sessions is still the AG?...... Did I miss something???
Exactly. Nothing screams “covert operation” than advance notice to the presss.
This too I fear shall result in nothing. Only more frequent flier miles for Sessions. He ought to be in D.C. working up the legal papers to authorize a Special Counsel re: the FBI, FISA, and the Clinton juggernauts
Why am I thinking of George Wallace.
State law versus federal law maybe.
I remember when federal troops were sent to Alabama to enforce federal law over state law..
Yep. When Sessions was first selected by Trump I said Sessions would slowly do his job, stay out of the limelight and would NOT go after Hillary or the democrats. His recusal was no surprise to me. Trump either is OK with what Sessions is doing or he is not too good a judge of character. Anyone that followed Sessions knew what he would do in that job.
Let's hope Sessions stays on the ball on immigration and other matters even if he is a failure in not going after the dems ... or Trump can always replace him but thus far Trump doesn't seem to want to do that.

The real fact: Successful Atty. Generals served a minimum 4 years-a whole term. Janet Reno is a perfect example-8 years. Doesn’t mean the had to be good.
All Sacramento marijuana outlets boarded up in advance of Session’s visit.
He should swing through Oakland and arrest Mayor Libby Schaaf himself.
