We’re in the process of selling our house in silicon valley, taking the money, buying a much cheaper house up north and banking the rest. We’ll both work, at least part-time, in the future. I get Medicare next year.

Watch out for the tax bite. I’ve heard that when you sell a house and buy a cheaper one, you get screwed on taxes.
