Not sure if that's a reality yet, but it's my understanding that many 9-1-1 call centers are now capable of taking emergency "texts."
Imagine the frightening possibilities there; many, if not most of my friends and relatives can't send me a coherent text while NOT hysterical.
Not to mention texts with erroneous or incomplete information from anonymous senders that "don't want to get involved."
Texts are 80s 90s technology.
The need to be able to receive video and photos if the caller has detail he or she wants to provide.
Imagery of a crime in progress or witness pictures of a perp.
