Our early arctic and Antarctic explorers had nearly fatal results when they stood directly over the North or South poles.
Their wristwatches exploded from the confusion of what time it was!!!
(And their calendars caught fire over the friction between one day and the next; too!)

Screws up the body clock really for no reason. Did Ferdinand Magellan's expedition around the world gain a day or lose one?

That’s what happens when you don’t change as we didn’t in Indiana for a long time. I prefer doing what we do now. Only downside is today its finally halfway light as I get to work and that is lost in the jump ahead an hour next week. It’ll be back though.

Calendar seasonal error
This image shows the difference between the Gregorian calendar and the astronomical seasons.
The y-axis is the date in June and the x-axis is Gregorian calendar years.
Each point is the date and time of the June solstice in that particular year. The error shifts by about a quarter of a day per year. Centurial years are ordinary years, unless they are divisible by 400, in which case they are leap years. This causes a correction in the years 1700, 1800, 1900, 2100, 2200, and 2300.

Doesn’t matter what time of year, I set my alarm so I can be 300 miles down the road by sunup so I can see my work better and miss some of the traffic congestion.
