Absolutely. Social conservatism has nothing to do with how they vote. They like the welfare state.
Johnson City and Farragut are both on my shortish list. I still want to live much closer to a coastal beach, which Virginia Beach is, but if that falls through then East Tennesse and Alabama top my list. I just need to visit these areas.
