I didn’t take any “virtue signaling” from Blue Jay’s post at all.

He paid the lady a compliment, despite not knowing her music. I know the name Taylor Swift, ‘cause it’s all over the place, including FR, but I don’t know her music either.

Not because I’m too good for it, or for her, I’ve just grown too old to tune in.

Sirius XM kicked off its classic southern rock station just in the past few days...that’s where my tuner stops.

Thanks to you I now (happily) know what Miss Swift looks like in glorious profile...man, she flies the colors well.

It’s not “The South’s Gonna Do It Again.” But it is definitely worth a listen. She wrote this when she was 21. She has a gift for writing.

Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly
Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you’re already flying through the free fall
Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all

[Chorus:]
Losing him was blue like I’d never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red

Thank you for the kind words, Fightin Whitey.
Your assessment is 100% accurate and correct.
I have heard of Taylor Swift yet just not felt all that compelled to research her catalog of material.

If she was a performer of interest to me, I would have undoubtedly heard her on Sirius/XM stations that I frequent or shows that I watch.
If she were buying coffee at the newsstand in town, my assumption would be she is a kid from the neighborhood. Nothing more, nothing less.
Her music and performances just are not on my radar screen. You are spot-on correct, FRiend. :-)
