I’ll cede, for the sake of argument, that it’s just to give land back to the black citizens. Who will now own the land? Black citizens? Of course not: the state will. Let’s imagine that the state gives the land back to black people. Who will they give it back to? I’m sure there are plenty of black people who have been working alongside the white farm owners who would be competent, even expert farmers themselves, but how would they become the ones running the farms?
Even buying the premise that the state should enact policies that result in land being transferred from white people to black people, this is a stupid way to do it.
A smarter way would be to find some way to increase costs — such as a tax, but the tax need not be direct — on while farm owners and lower costs on black farmers. Perhaps tax the products of the farm as they are sold. Or tax the land. Or tax seasonal loans. Or tax equipment, fuel, etc. Use those taxes to subsidize black-owned farms. This would place white farmers at a competitive disadvantage, prompting them to sell to black people. (You’d, of course, need to very carefully define “ownership” so they don’t simply make a black person an owner in name only.) But the sales would take place gradually, as competent, successful black farmers earned the money to buy the farms and white farmers were ready to pursue other work. There would be significant compensation, not from the government but from black people making profit off of white people. And that compensation would be largely commensurate with the value of the land.
But this isn’t about giving white-owned farms to black people. This is pure communism, poorly disguised as racial justice. Farm output will collapse. Poverty and starvation will ensue. Worse, what industry will feel safe from redistribution? Divestment will soon destroy South Africa.
We don’t have to guess. This has been tried before. Millions of people — black people — died.

Whites should create their own homeland in South Africa, like other groups.

I hope you don’t believe that liberals are ‘surprised’ by this. This is EXACTLY what they wanted, they are CELEBRATING, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they are advising that government on this.
How does one PROVE that? Simple, look at their non-reaction to this horrific abuse of human rights. By their standards, they’d be the FIRST ONES organizing boycotts against the black government for the abuses being inflicted on their white minority. Of course we’ll never hear anything of the sort, perhaps a letter or two from the US and UK asking the government to go easy on the white families as they torture the land owners, but that’s about it.
That is who the Left is and that is the world we live in. Whites in South Africa should be happy that they had nearly 30 years in relative peace, it’s a LOT LONGER than whites will have in the US, once the Left is able to move to their end game.
The Boers would be a natural constituency for the Republicans and offset the steady stream of Democrat supporting immigrants that has been the norm for over 40 years. Trump should issue an Executive Order declaring that all white citizens of South Africa are under de facto political persecution and permit all but convicted criminals to enter the US through an orderly refugee resettlement program. That’s 4.5 million citizens who have proven they can be productive members of society, even when that society despises them. Settle them all in Virginia and the Great Lakes States to help them turn reliably Red.
This has been building among the blacks in SA for about 20 years.
Watch the confiscation and the bloodshed. Then watch the country sink into a hellhole without food and clean water. That is inevitable much like Venezuela - or more like Zimbabwe.
This has been done before in Africa by Robert Mugabe, and those blacks who had learned how to farm from the white farmers were slaughtered as well. Is it any wonder why the people end up starving?

that sounds great, but I rather see the white farmers and some conservative patriotic blacks, buy a mercenary army and organize themselves for a civil war. Then regain control of their country. They built SA from a jungle, to what was once a productive country in mining, agriculture, and manufacturing. Now its a POS.

I don’t find it the least bit shocking.
The white South Africans made a massive error in reaching any deal with the ANC that did not involve partition of the country and the creation of a separate country. They would have had to abandon most of South Africa but with their hard work and ingenuity they could have survived next to the murderous thugs in the same manner that Israel has survived in the Middle East. They caved to international pressure and that same international community is all too willing to stand by and see them slaughtered in the name of “justice”. They have two choices now - either fight or flee. The status quo is a death sentence.

If the U.S. government is currently sending any money to South Africa under any program, it should immediately be discontinued and the racist rulers of that sh** condemned by the President.
