Last year I saw Dunkirk and Murder on the Orient Express because a friend wanted to see them. They were alright.

I thought Dunkirk was excellent! One of my top 5 war movies.

I saw Dunkirk. It was adequate, but simplified the battles, the strategies, and even the boat pickups. Every Navy or commercial ship sank, every soldier was a quivering ball of stressed out shellshock. Or a coniving schemer.

Dunkirk was an English-style movie, driven more by existentialism than plot. Fine, if you like that sort of thing.

Shape of Water is quirky, based on the producer’s childhood fantasy after watching the original Black Lagoon. Kind of fun, actually.

Darkest Hour is an acting tour de force, akin to “Lincoln” of a few years ago. Good period piece for the times it represents.

The Post was a bad story when it really happened, and worse as a movie than real life, which was bad enough.

No idea about the others.
