I didn’t like the way they jumped back and forth in “Dunkirk”, because they did’t give you good clues about what they were doing, and I found it hard to keep track of.

Also, the Pilot scenes were just too drawn out, especially the one where the pilot wants to bug out, but feels the draw of duty to shoot down the HE-111 the flies by him on its way to bomb the ship.

My wife didn’t like the fact that they didn’t do enough to distinguish the soldiers from each other, and some of them were pretty similar looking. They didn’t give you enough cues, and you had to keep trying to figure it out.

Explained in the very beginning. Soldiers on the beaches of Dunkirk 1 week. Ships on the water picking up the soldiers 1 day. Planes in the sky, 1 Hour.

At various points in time the 3 mesh and you get different perspectives of the same occurrences. Like Pulp Fiction but not like Pulp Fiction.

Dunkirk managed to make a beach claustrophobic.

I had the same feeling.

Wrong! All movies would benefit from more dogfight scenes IMNSHO. I could watch a movie that was nothing but a Spitfire flying in an endless loop.

They could even make sequels: "Spitfire 2 - now viewed from the starboard side "
