He did not say he was a practicing attorney. He went to law school and got his law degree. Doubt he will pass the CA bar.

Doubt he will pass the CA bar.He doesn't have to. He passed a different one.
Undocumented Immigrant Cesar Vargas (11) Admitted to NY Bar
Cesar Vargas (11) who was brought to the United States as a child from Mexico and is still undocumented, was admitted to practice law in New York, by the decision of New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division.
Vargas passed the New York State Bar exam on his first try and was rated as a stellar candidate by the New York State Supreme Court Committee. Since graduation, he has been engaged in activism for immigration reform on a national scale, leading the Dream Action Coalition. The New York Times and the New York Daily News have both written about Vargas plight and his dedicated advocacy for immigrants.
And I haven't even looked into how he paid for college.

Calbar.ca.gov doesn’t show a “Cesar Vargas.”
