Mr. Hogg said it’s important to remember that police officers are “people too.” He said he had interviewed Mr. Peterson before, and that Mr. Peterson “is a very conservative man.”

Does anyone know what Coward Peterson's political affiliation is? His actions don't seem to be those of a conservative.

My guess is Hogg is concerned because focus is switching to incompetence on several levels instead of the “evil gun”
