I’m reminded of a school bus driver in Alabama. A few years ago, a lunatic got on the bus and pointed a gun in the driver’s face...demanding the driver let him pull a small child off the bus. The driver refused and was shot and killed...the guy did get the kid, and took him to an underground bunker for a few days, until an FBI team stormed the bunker and saved the kid.

The driver was just an ordinary guy, never expecting to be in such a life or death situation...and by all accounts he was unwavering...he absolutely refused to comply, even with a gun in his face. There was no way he was going to sacrifice a small child to save his own life.

I’ve wondered how I would have acted in the same situation...and I honestly don’t know.

I seem to remember that story. I don’t know how I’d react either. I know how I hope I’d react, but we can’t be certain.
