To [Nikolas] Cruz, the campus sun-splashed courtyards were a dark place where he was mocked and ridiculed for his odd behavior, according to interviews with close family friends, students and recently released police and mental health reports.
Someone could have approached a faculty member, a guidance counselor, a teacher and said, This kid gets bullied a lot, someone should do something, said student Manolo Alvarez, 17, who had history class with Cruz. I regret definitely not saying anything.

I hate to tell her, but Cruz’s lawyers are going to be getting all that money.
A great read, fiction, on this topic is NINETEEN MINUTES, by Jodi Picoult. It goes into the life and mind of a child shooter, his parents and the families affected. Truly interesting and even though it is an older book definitely relevant for today, as bullying is the key factor to this shooter.
Now that Broward County has realized they are on the hook for $Millions for gross negligence if Cruz was a monster they failed to rein in they are trying to turn him into the victim so the liable parties are the bullies and not the County. Pretty easy to understand.
Not quite. That asshole was unstable all his life.
I have no doubt that he was “made fun of”, but the same is true for countless youths who do not end up a mass murderer.
On the same vein, the left is largely composed of the same general “type” of person as this evil bastard. Why do you think the left hates this country and are bound and determined to make others “suffer”? The bulk of them were the ones who were “made fun of” and belittled throughout their formative years, to one degree or another, and now that they are adults, they are getting their “revenge”, one way or another.
Thank you for posting. I would wager that those “victims” waging war on inanimate objects are members of the most elitist groups in their school.
“We just have to hang in there long enough to be vindicated lol.”
Like some of the supermodels who were made fun of in school for developing early and being taller than everybody else. Tall, gangly girls who became supermodels got the last laugh there.
I presume the change it talk about the kid is in part because they found out they had fallen for false news reports that he was a “white supremicist”.
You are right. That is a case she is going to lose.
Not one specific instance of bullying, just vague “he was bullied.”
So? Are you calling the eyewitness in the article a liar?
Maybe he’s a crisis actor.
“These monsters are the ones who created this monster.”
Exactly. Sadly, there isn’t much discussion about this. The students’ parents have raised entitled, pissy, bullies. They aren’t necessarily the bold, physical, thug-like bullies, but the “mean girls” style. The parents are about 75% to blame.
All parents should tell their kids to be polite and respectful to those in school who might be considered “less than”, or outsiders. Make sure they realize they could be the next corpse in a school hallway.
I don’t know what that is. That Hogg kid was surely acting in his staged interview but I doubt he’s a professional actor.
We know that at least since middle school this nineteen year old has been crying out (the cause ignored), until which time his odd behaviors escalated to the bizarre, becoming a pattern that had other classmates fearing him and saying so online.
Severe mental illness and severe misery that is years ignored, endlessly neglected or covered up is an explosive combination. Sadly, prevention measures were in reach. Nikolas was increasingly ill and apparently never had a prayer.
What if, early on, this boy could have been healed?
Well, yeah. Hello!
Drama much? Set off by the mildest statement, ever?
Get pearls to clutch.
They’re trying to make the murderer look like a victim with all these stories. A normal person doesn’t go on a shooting spree because things don’t go their way.
I'm sorry, where's his brother?
I’m gonna give you a mulligan on your dopey post to me.
