Carrying those ARs will make them very visible and obvious first targets. You take out the guard first then the whole place is easy shooting.

Shooting at an armed combatant is a whole lot different from shooting unarmed kids...particularly when he KNOWS he's a target.

Not true, entry point to a school should be through and armed guard and metal detector.
Most entrances are through a narrow area giving the guard a chance to see it’s a bad guy.
