New Jersey saw one of the nation's biggest surges in arrests by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents last year as the federal government cracked down on unauthorized immigrants during President Donald Trump's first year in office.
There were 3,189 arrests in fiscal year 2017 in ICE's Newark region, which encompasses all of New Jersey, according to data released by the agency. That is a 42 percent increase compared to the previous year.
New Jersey's increase was among the highest in the nation, according to an analysis by the Pew Research Center, a nonpartisan demographic research group. Nationwide, ICE arrests rose about 30 percent to a total of 143,470 arrests during fiscal year 2017, the report said.
Why are the numbers going up?
ICE rapidly increased its arrests nationwide shortly after Trump's inauguration. In one of his first acts as president, Trump directed ICE to broaden its focus on all immigrants living in the country illegally. "Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 25 that expanded ICE's enforcement focus to most immigrants in the U.S. without authorization, regardless of whether they have a criminal record," the Pew Report said.

Not enough. Like I stated in another thread, if Trump put a bounty or a hotline for illegals near you, you get a check from the govt. Believe me, this will go faster.
Really.
Do I really need to be told ‘why’ we’re enforcing the law?
Holy crap, I’d be rich. A huge chunk of people in my area are of dubious immigration status.
Wow, that’s almost three a day. I hope they put in for some vacation, they must be exhausted. For the record.. I have lived in NC ran into more than 3 a day, just by making a trip to the hardware or grocery store.
...focus on all immigrants living in the country illegally....
The nerve!
Lol.. 10 a day. I still met that many per day. No math after a 14 hr shift.
Thats good idea. A bounty on illegals. At least blacks will be much motivated. The housing and deportation may be a big problem. They may not be able to handle such a sharp surge of arrested illegals
My Home Depot STILL has a lot of them at the entrance. I’d go there with a few and a Greyhound bus, and haul them in. $10,000 per head would be nice.
8-9 a day. That’s a drop in the bucket. That’s a 60 second stop at one Home Depot. Or 10 raids at a single Tyson chicken or Smithfield ham. Or 15 seconds of EBT data.

We need this many every month, in New Jersey.
More in California.

Illegal aliens is what they mean and we should not wait until they are convicted of other crimes.
We need ICE arrests to surge here in California...bigly.
The new NJ gov made NJ a “sanctuary state”. Fine. He wants to make it hard for ICE to focus on criminal aliens, then ICE will grab whatever illegal aliens they CAN find.
Capital idea, sir.
Holy crap, Id be rich. A huge chunk of people in my area are of dubious immigration status.
There are also about 12m green card holders, about 8m of which are eligible to become citizens. Again, getting a visit from la migra because someone in the neighborhood thought speaking Spanish or speaking English in a Spanish accent meant he was an illegal alien will greatly raise naturalization rates for these green card holders. So that would be another GOTV gift to the Democratic party.
Bottom line is, I don’t see the GOP going with illegal alien bounties any time soon. It sounds good in theory, but is a guaranteed vote loser.
Promise twice as much to naturalized citizens for turning in illegals with a bonus to fast-track green card holders. Watch what happens.

*******
You want to ship those Asians back from whence they came?
Good Idea.
Put ICE agents at every democrat polling station. I bet the voting numbers drop to nothing.
