Why does this guy get to claim he’s a Republican if he wants something only democrats want?

This guy can make his own decisions; he doesn't need to be making mine.

If he wants to ban some guns or all guns in his house, let him do it. He has no right to tell me what I should do in my house.

Amazing ignorance. The AR-15 was NOT banned by the 1994 Assault Weapons law.

Yeah? Well I served beginning age 17 under Nixon and I say let’s repeal the 1987 FOPA that banned MGs made after 1987.

It’s not about the guns, or knives, or trucks, or whatever. It’s about the mentally ill—which already are not allowed to own firearms. We used to have institutions that took care of these people to keep them from hurting themselves or others. Then the “do-gooders” closed the institutions and dispersed the nutjobs into the general population. What did they expect? Guess they really didn’t think that through.

Anyway, the 2nd Amendment isn’t about hunting, or home defense. It’s to keep the Government afraid of the the People, not the other way around, and that was actually brilliant of the Founding Fathers. It is the only reason this country is as free as it is.

I’d rather ban big government statists.

The AR15 doesn’t do anything different from 60 million semiautomatic weapons in the USA.

Actually, MA is still operated under the AWB.

I bought an AR15 a few years ago. This person might want to review their facts.

I love how they say “I’m like you” before they go into their gun grabbing dialog. All these people announcing they would now be willing ban the AR, never were for the 2nd amendment in the first place.

No just an ass-hole.

Do you truly believe that it was the A/R 15 style of weapon was responsible for the deaths at these children and other shooting around the country?

My A/R 15 has never left the gun safe unless I have been with it. It has never, on its own killed anything. It has never induced me to kill anything that I did not want to kill.

Do you actually believe that if we banned A/R 15 style rifles that we would live in peace, and never, ever have another mass shooting? Really? Have you given this subject any actual thought? Not emotional knee jerk reaction but actual thought.

It is attributed that Einstein said that doing the same thing over and over again is the definition of insanity.

We have tried a federal assault weapons ban, several states have implemented state-wide assault weapons bans. They don't work in preventing mass or school shootings.

So no matter who, or what credentials they seem to have arguing that we should ban any form of assault weapon as a means of stopping even a small segment of firearm violence is at least according to Einstein........INSANE.

Why?

What makes them different from dozens of other semi-auto hunting rifles?

Cosmetics?

This is a weapon that was banned for individual ownership and usage by the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban.

A law which was shown to have zero affect on crime.

Yayyy, let's do something feel-good and useless!

Hey ... Ban them in Chicago ... then after 3 months if it doesn’t make a difference, then kill the legislation and don’t EVER bring it up again. But don’t “test legislation nationally” ... that didn’t work with Prohibition did it?

Let’s ban liberals! All of the shooters have been liberals/liberal indoctrinated.

“The policy imperative for reinstating the Federal Assault Weapons Ban is abundantly clear.”

This makes about as much sense as banning historic American flags because 30 or 40 people are shot down on the streets of Chicago every weekend.

Better answer: get rid of liberal policies altogether.

I will strongly support banning the AR-15 when the day comes that an AR-15 walks into a school and kills someone.
