Thousands of supporters of the deported former Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili have marched through the streets of Kiev, demanding the impeachment of the Ukrainian president.
Journalists said an estimated 10,000 people took part in the rally on Sunday, though the ministry of internal affairs put the number at about 3,000.
Protesters carried banners portraying President Petro Poroshenko with a red line drawn over his face. The demonstrators chanted impeachment, resignation and Poroshenko is a thief.
Saakashvili, 50, who had been living in exile in Ukraine, was detained by masked men at a restaurant in central Kiev and deported to Poland on Monday.
The state border guard service said he had been residing in Ukraine illegally and was sent to the country from where he initially came.
On Tuesday, Saakashvili gave a press conference in Warsaw and said he had been blindfolded and rushed first by van, then by helicopter, to Kiev international airport.
On Wednesday, the opposition leader, who is married to a Dutch woman, arrived in the Netherlands.
Kiev resident Galina Zagoruiko, one of the protesters on Sunday, said: People cant stand it any more that nothing changes and everything just gets worse.

Saakashvili was a Sorosite. The current Kiev government was installed by Soros. So it looks like Soros wants to keep the Ukraine situation unstable for his greater ends.
Ukrainians want neither Soros nor Putin running the show.
LOL, he must have refused to take his pay in Chocolate!
You might be right, Saakashvili is definitely a Western puppet of some sort.
You can't shut up for a minute about Putin, can you?
He’s the one who has done the most to sabotage the country, and the one who has outright invaded it and continues to keep war going on its Eastern edge - disenchanting even Ukrainians who used to identify more with Russia than Europe.

I thought they don’t like Georgian dictators there. Who knew....These Ukes never learn. Also a revolution once or twice in a decade has become a good tradition in Ukraine. It should be officially renamed Africa Norte.

“ “” “ In an interview with a Dutch magazine, Sandra Roelofs, the Dutch wife of the new Georgian president and hence the new first lady of Georgia, explained that her husband aspires to follow in the long tradition of strong Georgian leaders “like Stalin and Beria”. Saakashvili started his march on Tbilisi last November with a rally in front of the statue of Stalin in his birthplace, Gori. Unfazed, the western media continue to chatter about Saakashvili’s democratic credentials, even though his seizure of power was consolidated with more than 95% of the vote in a poll in January, and even though he said last week that he did not see the point of having any opposition deputies in the national parliament.....
.... New world order enthusiasts have praised the nightly displays on Georgian television of people being arrested and bundled off to prison in handcuffs. The politics of envy and fear combine in an echo of 1930s Moscow, as Saakashvili’s anti-corruption campaign, egged on by the west, allows the biggest gangsters in this gangster state to eliminate their rivals.... “
Written 15 years ago and proved to be true after Saakashvili established Stalinism in Georgia (being praised as ‘Reaganite’ by McCain and alikes). He is now indicted in Georgia over his ‘Reaganite’ antics like imprisoning opposition and killing reporters, beating peaceful protestors, nationalizing TV stations and looting businesses.
The whole Saakashvili family were KBG snitches and some even career officers under USSR. Saakashvili’s uncle was a KGB turncoat who switched to CIA in 1980s and now lives in a million dollar house in Washington, DC.
I find it incredible that after all the upheaval of the 2013 Maidan that there is still no people’s leader in Ukraine.
Is Vitali Klitschco still around or did he emigrate to Germany?

Do you realize that his IQ is well below room temperature?
Ukraine doesn’t have a tradition of ‘people’ s leaders’.
They are selling out to either Stalin or Hitler. Or be it Yeltsyn and Clinton and who-ever-else.
They don’t want the c ia either.
The worst is his Prime Minister, calling up Maxine Waters and other American public figures.

What they need is Ivan Mazeppa. The old Cossack het man would put things right.
Saakashvili has arrest warrants on him in Georgia for crimes he committed there. He can’t go back to his own country, so he tries to rule another one.
I am sure that is true. I am still wondering at the Ukraine’s role in the Steele Dossier was and spreading the lies about Russian meddling?
I’m trying to remain neutral, but it seems a lot of animosity, at times, for the Russian narrative, is transforming into Putin love among some. Pointing out Putin is evil is no more a revelation than saying the same about North Korean leadership.
You can draw a straight line from the Steeele dossier to Michael Isakoff to Alexandra Chalupa (DNC) to the Ukrainian embassy in Washington DC.
Steele also spent several years leading up to the 2016 election sending reports to Victoria Nuland at the US State Dept. whose portfolio included Ukraine.
Ukraine was up to its fat neck digging for dirt to be used against the Trump campaign.
Wow, then that really starts to erode any sympathy I have had for the Ukraine. To hell with them.
