I think many things fall under the “mental illness” umbrella. There’s much more mental illness since families became so broken and dysfunctional. With so many kids living with multiple “parents”, never knowing their fathers, and the general frantic and material lives that parents chase, it’s little wonder the kids are being medicated.

In my opinion, some kids are not taught respect and manners at home before they start school, they think they can just do what they want. Schools can’t do much in the form of discipline and the parents usually take the kid’s side.
So it just became easier to drug them.
